102 Garda Reserve recruits to graduate today
More than 100 new members of the Garda Reserve are set to graduate today at a special ceremony in Templemore.
Justice Minister Dermot Ahern and Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy will both attend the event.
The 102 new recruits bring the total number of reservists nationwide to 520, almost 200 of whom are still in training.
When the reserve was established four years ago, the Government said it hoped to recruit 4,000 members to work alongside gardaí on duties like traffic checkpoints and community patrols.
