European election nominations to close at midday

Fianna Fáil's Pat 'The Cope' Gallagher is expected to declare his candidacy for the European elections before nominations close at midday today.

The Donegal TD is expected to run in the North West constituency, where former senator Paschal Mooney is already standing for the party.
