Merging of accreditation bodies delayed until next year

The proposed amalgamation of three accreditation bodies announced in last year's Budget is not now expected to take place until next year.

The proposed amalgamation of three accreditation bodies announced in last year's Budget is not now expected to take place until next year.

It is planned that the education and training awards bodies FETAC and HETAC will merge with NQAI, the National Qualifications Authority.

Education Minister Batt O’Keeffe says while the required legislation is not expected to be ready until the end of the year he will bring the matter to the Cabinet in the next fortnight.
