Clare man cleared of abuse

A Clare man has been cleared of sexually abusing his former partner's daughter over a number of years while the girl was aged between eight and 15 years old.

The 40-year-old man had pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to 15 counts of rape, two of anal rape and one of sex assault against the girl at various locations in Co. Clare between December 1998 and May 2005.
