A Dublin alcoholic heroin addict has been jailed for his part in a gang attack on a Polish couple on Dublin's Millennium Bridge which left them both unconscious and seriously injured.

A Dublin alcoholic heroin addict has been jailed for his part in a gang attack on a Polish couple on Dublin's Millennium Bridge which left them both unconscious and seriously injured.

Thomas Duff (aged 25) of St Mary's Mansions, Railway Street pleaded guilty "at the last moment" in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assaulting the couple with three others on July 9, 2006. His 16 previous convictions included burglary, assault and handling stolen property.
