Man due in court over doorstep murder

A man is due before Ballymena Magistrates Court later today charged in connection with the murder of businessman Geoff Kerr.

The 60-year-old was shot dead at his home in Templepatrick last Monday night.

Two men posing as takeaway delivery men gunned him down on his doorstep in front of his wife and son.

A 33-year-old man was charged with the killing yesterday.

Two other men and two women arrested in connection with the death have been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the North's Public Prosecution Service.
