A Meath man has arrived on Hamilton Island in Australia in a bid to win the Best Job in the World.

A Meath man has arrived on Hamilton Island in Australia in a bid to win the Best Job in the World.

George Karellas, aged 31, is one of 16 finalists competing to become the caretaker of the tropical island in the Great Barrier Reef.

Over 35,000 people around the world entered the competition.

The winner will stay on the island for six months and will be paid AUS$150,000 for promoting it.
