Killarney hospital staff to mount work stoppage

Staff at a hospital in Kerry are engaging in a one-hour work stoppage today in protest at management changes being introduced by the HSE.

Nurses at Killarney Community Hospital say the changes, which include abolishing the position of director of nursing, would ultimately lead to a downgrading of services and the status of the hospital.

They are calling on the HSE to suspend the changes to allow for the intervention of the Labour Relations Commission.
