McBrearty Jnr to run as local election candidate
Frank McBrearty Jnr - whose family was at the centre of the Morris Tribunal - is to run as a local election candidate in Co Donegal.
The Raphoe man is set to seek election in the Stranorlar area as a Labour Party candidate.
The Morris Tribunal, which investigated garda corruption in Donegal, found that gardaí tried to frame Mr McBrearty for murder in connection with the death of cattle dealer Richie Barron in 1996.
He says his subsequent battle with the State has prompted his move into the political arena.
