Protestors to seek deferral of incinerator hearing

Local protestors will today seek a deferral of the oral hearing into the incinerator proposed for Ringaskiddy in Cork.

The hearing is due to begin later this morning at Cork International Airport Hotel.

However, the Cork Harbour Alliance for a Safe Environment says it is at a disadvantage, having not been allowed to see new information provided by the company behind the planned incinerator.

The alliance says it wants time to digest the new information, which was sought from the firm by An Bord Pleanala.
