2008 tax take was €8bn below Budget estimates

Ireland's tax take last year was €8bn below the figure estimated in the Budget, according to the latest annual report from the Revenue Commissioners.

The report says a total of €41bn was collected last year, down almost €6.5bn compared to 2007.
