Dublin Mayor to contest European elections
Dublin's Lord Mayor has announced that she will be running for Fianna Fáil in the European elections this summer.
Eibhlin Byrne will be contesting the June elections in the Dublin constituency alongside the party's sitting MEP Eoin Ryan.
The two candidates were officially nominated at a selection convention last night.
The Dublin constituency is being reduced from four seats to three this summer.
Sitting MEPs Mary Lou Mc Donald, Prionsias de Rossa and Gay Mitchell all plan to seek re-election.
