O’Keeffe heckled during TUI conference speech
Education Minister Batt O'Keeffe has been greeted with boos and shouts of "shame" at the annual conference of the Teachers' Union of Ireland in Cork today.
Placards criticising the education cutbacks were held up by delegates, while several walked out as Mr O'Keeffe began to speak.
The minister was heckled throughout his speech, in which he insisted that the Government needed to impose cutbacks to ensure the viability of public services into the future.
