Huge crowds have turned out on the streets of Kilkenny today to mark the city's 400th birthday.

Huge crowds have turned out on the streets of Kilkenny today to mark the city's 400th birthday.

It is 400 years to the day since King James the First - the then King of Ireland - granted Kilkenny a charter designating it a city.

A wide range of events have been taking place, including street theatre, art exhibitions, live music and fire displays.
