CORI says emergency Budget lacks guiding vision
The religious lobby group CORI says yesterday's emergency Budget lacks a guiding vision and allows many of those who created the economic crisis to escape unscathed.
Spokesman Fr Sean Healy says vulnerable people, especially children, have been unfairly targeted by the range of tax hikes and spending cuts introduced by Finance Minister Brian Lenihan.
He says the Government is failing to recognise the problems that will be caused by severe cuts in supports for the most vulnerable people in society.
