Tributes paid to slain garda

Tributes are being paid to the 29-year-old garda who died in hospital yesterday after being struck by a stolen car in Co Donegal two weeks ago.

Robert McCallion passed away at Beaumont Hospital yesterday afternoon.

The Co. Mayo native suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by the stolen car in Letterkenny on March 26.

Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy was among those paying tribute to Mr McCallion yesterday.
