Donegal food plant lets go 123 workers

One hundred and twenty-three jobs are being lost at Largo Foods in Gweedore, Co. Donegal.

The snack foods manufacturer is moving part of its production to its more automated site in Ashbourne, County Meath to cut costs.

The losses represent 20% of the 600 full-time jobs in Largo Foods and half the total workforce in Gweedore.

A statement issued on behalf of the company says the job losses will take effect by the end of August.
