Suspected pipe bombs found in Limerick city

A number of suspected pipe bombs have been found on the outskirts of Limerick city.

The army bomb disposal unit are due to arrive in Ballysheedy, Fedamore following the discovery of at least two suspicious devices shortly after midday.

Roxboro gardaí made the discovery during a search of an area of open ground near a derelict house.

They were conducting an operation as part of ongoing investigations in to criminal activity on the south side of Limerick city.
