Offaly gardaí launch murder investigation
Gardaí have formally launched a murder investigation following the death of a 64-year-old publican at his premises in Co Offaly yesterday morning.
Matt Farrell's body was discovered at the Gaelic Bar in Daingean by his son.
He was reportedly tied to a chair, prompting suspicions that he was the victim of a robbery.
A post mortem has been carried out on his body.
Gardaí are continuing to carry out door-to-door inquiries in the village as part of their investigation.
