Two questioned in connection with Shannon drugs seizure
Two men are being questioned by gardaí in Co. Clare following the seizure of 1.5 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €100,000 at Shannon Airport last night.
A Romanian national, aged in his forties, was stopped by officers from Revenue's Customs Service after he had arrived on a flight from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil via London.
The drug was discovered concealed in a false compartment in the man's luggage. A short time later, a second man was arrested at the airport in connection with the same incident.
Both men were taken to Shannon Garda Station where they were still being questioned this evening.
