Man quizzed regarding heroin haul

A man was being questioned by detectives today after the seizure of €200,000 worth of heroin.

The suspect was arrested when a car was stopped and searched on St Laurence’s Road in Ballyfermot, west Dublin, at around 8pm last night.

A package was discovered in the vehicle and its contents were analysed at the Forensic Science Lab at Garda Headquarters.

A Garda spokesman said it contained approximately 1 kilogram of heroin.

The operation was carried out by the Garda Organised Crime Unit

The man is being detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act where he can be held for up to seven days.
