Dismembered body pulled from Dutch canal
The dismembered body of a suspected Irish drug dealer has been pulled from a canal in Amsterdam.
Keith Ennis, 30, from Dublin was wanted by gardaí after failing to appear in court on drugs and firearms charges 18 months ago.
His body was found in Diemerzeedijk canal in the Dutch capital on February 24 but his identity was only confirmed today after the results of DNA and fingerprint tests.
It is not known how long Ennis, who was originally from the Walkinstown area of Dublin, was in the Netherlands before his body was discovered.
He was due in court in Dublin in 2007 on charges linked to a €100,000 haul of drugs and firearms recovered in the city.
His remains were only identified after the authorities in Holland contacted gardaí for assistance.
Both police services are now co-operating to try and determine where he was killed.
