Brennan appointed as new chair of DDDA
UCD Professor Niamh Brennan has been appointed as the new chair of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority by the Minister for the Environment.
The move follows the recent resignation of Gerry McCaughey following revelations that he used a legal loophole to avoid paying almost âŹ5m in tax when he sold his former company, Century Homes.
Prof Brennan is academic director of UCD's Centre for Corporate Governance and is a regular panellist on current affairs programmes.
She is also a non-executive director of Ulster Bank and the HSE and is married to former Progressive Democrats leader Michael McDowell.
Minister John Gormley says she is exceedingly well-placed to lead the DDDA through the current period of economic uncertainty.
