Tánaiste joins calls for Fingleton to return €1m bonus

Tánaiste Mary Coughlan has said she would like to see Irish Nationwide boss Michael Fingleton return the €1m bonus he received last year.

Mr Fingleton received the payment in the weeks following the State guarantee of Irish financial institutions.

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan met with the two Government-appointed directors at the building society last night.

He is due to brief the Cabinet on the matter today.
