HSE publishes statistics on hospital performances

The Health Service Executive has for the first time published comprehensive information on how Irish hospitals are treating their patients.

The HSE's Healthstat programme reveals how hospitals are performing against national and international targets.

The data, which is made available to the public every month on the HSE's website, identifies hospitals that are performing well and those that are delivering a below-standard service.

The HSE says Healthstat will help support continuous improvement, greater openness and more transparency in the health service.
