Body of woman found in River Boyne

The body of a woman has been found in the River Boyne in Co. Meath.

The remains are those of a woman who has been missing from her home for the past three weeks

The body was found in the River Boyne near Kilcaim Bridge by Meath River Rescue at 12.15pm this afternoon.

The remains have been identified as those of 53-year-old Margaret Mawhinney, who was reported missing on March 3.

Gardaí say the death is not being treated as suspicious and would like to thank members of the public for their assistance.
