Paisley extends sympathies to Neeson family
Former DUP leader Ian Paisley has extended his sympathies to the family of actor Liam Neeson following the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson, in New York overnight.
The award-winning actress died in hospital after suffering a brain injury during a skiing accident in Canada on Monday.
Neeson was born in Ballymena - Dr Paisley's political stronghold - and he still has family in the area.
Dr Paisley says he is extending his prayers to the entire Neeson family, who are grieving a terrible, tragic loss.
The local SDLP assembly member, Declan O'Loan, says the entire community sends the bereaved family their sincere condolences.
