An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at Navan Garda Station in Co Meath last night.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at Navan Garda Station in Co Meath last night.

The 52-year-old, who was arrested yesterday for a public order offence, was found lying on the floor of a cell shortly after 10pm.

A local doctor was called to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission has launched an investigation into the incident.
