Man dies in Ballymena shooting

A man has died in a shooting today after police stopped a car.

The shooting, in Loughanhill Park, Ballymena, in the North, was not terrorist-related, a police spokesman said.

No shots were fired by police.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said that despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, the man died at the scene.

No further information was available. The police ombudsman was informed.
