The Revenue Commissioners have said their tax checks and investigations brought in €145m in the three months to the end of December.

A total of 89 cases brought in almost €19m in agreed payments for under-declared taxes, bogus non resident accounts, offshore accounts and single premium insurance products.

Two of those 89 settlements exceeded a €1m each.

The largest amount, almost €3.17m, was paid by Co Kerry building contractor Thomas Keane of Valentia Road, Caherciveen.

Achille Orlandi, a takeaway food supplier from Liberty Square Thurles in Tipperary, made a settlement for €1.7m.
