Man accused of sexually abusing granddaughter has sentence adjourned

A 67-year-old man who sexually abused his granddaughter around 20 times has had his sentence adjourned to assess his risk of re-offending.

He pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to four counts of sexual assault between January 2006 and January 2008 when the girl was aged between seven and 10. The abuse occurred at his north Dublin home, the girl's home and while they were on holiday.
