Baby girl among three killed in separate crashes

Two adults and a seven-month-old baby girl have died following three separate road crashes in Laois, Sligo and Roscommon.

A man in his 40s died after the car he was driving collided with a van on the Mountmellick Road in Killeigh, Co. Laois, just before 8am.

The driver of the van was also seriously injured and is being treated at Midlands Regional Hospital.

In Co. Sligo, a 60-year-old woman died after her car left the old Dublin Road near Ballisodare just after midnight last night and ended up in a river.

Gardaí say a seven-month-old baby girl has also died in hospital in Dublin from injuries she sustained in a crash in Co. Roscommon on Friday night.
