Brown visits Co Antrim army base after RIRA shooting
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has visited the Massereene military barracks in Co Antrim this morning following the murder of two British soldiers by dissident republicans on Saturday night.
Mr Brown met army commanders at the base ahead of discussions on the security situation with Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward and PSNI chief constable Hugh Orde.
He is also due to hold talks with First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness at Stormont.
Mr Orde will also meet Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy on Thursday to discuss cross-border strategies for tackling dissident republican groups.
