Greens to hear motion on party’s future in Govt

The Green Party’s annual convention in Wexford is due to hear a motion today calling for a special debate next year about the party's future in Government.

The motion has been proposed by the Dublin Mid-West branch, which is not calling for an immediate debate on the matter because of the current economic circumstances.

Elsewhere, the conference will also hear a motion calling on the party to enter a national Government comprising of all parties in the Oireachtas.

Party leader John Gormley will give his televised keynote address to around 600 delegates at 8.30pm tonight.
