Events to mark National Tree Week

The Tree Council of Ireland is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its National Tree Week.

The annual event starts today and this year's theme is "Our trees - our culture".

It is to celebrate the role of trees in culture throughout Irish history.

Some 130 events are organised across the country this week to mark the event.
