Minister decides not to raise remains of Asgard 2

The Minister for Defence has decided not to raise the national sail training vessel Asgard 2 following its sinking off the northwest coast of France last year.

The board of the Coiste An Asgard had recommended that the €2m salvage operation not go ahead due to the costs involved.
