Labour Party hosts economic summit

The Labour Party is hosting an economic summit in Dublin today.

The event - on the state of the nation - is being held in conjunction with the Party of European Socialists.

The challenges facing the financial and banking sector will dominate proceedings.

Labour leader Eamon Gilmore will give the opening address later this morning.
