ESB cleared to purchase wind energy from households

The Energy Regulator has cleared the way for the ESB to purchase electricity from households that have their own wind generators.

Experts believe a high percentage of homes in certain parts of the country could become self-sufficient by using wind generators and could feed any excess electricity back to the National Grid.
