Opposition TDs are calling for the law to be changed to ensure that witnesses called before an Oireachtas committee are legally obliged to attend.

The calls follow yesterday's confirmation that former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean Fitzpatrick has declined to attend a meeting of the Oireachtas committee on regulatory affairs today.
