The Labour Party is due to introduce a private members' motion in the Dáil tonight calling on the Government to suspend its plan to impose a pension levy on public servants.

The motion will also call on the Government to re-enter talks with the social partners to ensure that any future levy is fair.

Labour says those whose actions caused the current economic crisis should be required to contribute most to any recovery plan.
