A 36 year-old Latvian fisherman who killed a fellow countryman in a fight and threw his body over the side of a fishing trawler into Howth Harbour has walked free from the Central Criminal Court after being sentenced to time already served.

A 36 year-old Latvian fisherman who killed a fellow countryman in a fight and threw his body over the side of a fishing trawler into Howth Harbour has walked free from the Central Criminal Court after being sentenced to time already served.

Mr Justice Paul Carney said that the public interest would not be served by further imprisoning Sergejs Lavrinovics, who choked 35 year-old Igors Bondarenko to death.
