The Financial Regulator is rejecting claims that it was aware of any agreement surrounding the purchase of shares at Anglo Irish Bank last summer.

It comes as reports in two Sunday newspapers today said officials in the regulators office, the Central Bank and the Department of Finance were all aware of the so-called 'sweetheart' deal.
