Woman jailed after £500,000 cocaine haul found in stomach
A Dutch woman who swallowed more than £500,000 (€557,318) worth of cocaine in a bid to smuggle the drug into the North was jailed for six years today.
Gerda Lienga (aged 42) was arrested at Belfast International Airport last June, and was found to have 110 packages of cocaine, with a purity level of 64% and a street value of up to £520,000 (€579,610), concealed internally, Ballymena Crown Court was told.
