Dublin Bus drivers vote for strike action

Siptu drivers at Dublin Bus have this evening voted for industrial action, up to and including strike action.

The union represents around 1,000 drivers at Dublin Bus.

The NBRU, which also represents drivers at the company, is to release the result of its ballot next week.

Drivers are angry at plans to cut 290 jobs and withdraw 120 buses from service.

John McCamley, vice president of Siptu's Dublin Bus branch, said that his members are standing up for public transport.
