EU spreads word of emergency phone number

The European Commission today launched a new bid to spread the word about Europe’s 112 emergency phone number – by declaring the 11th day of the second month “European 112 Day”.

The move reflects concern that the public is less than impressed with the single emergency number allocated to 27 countries – assuming they have heard about it in the first place.
