Search underway for snowboarders trapped on Wicklow Mountains

A search is continuing this morning for two snowboarders who became trapped in the Wicklow Mountains last night.

The pair are understood to have got into difficulty while snowboarding on Lugnacoille.

They raised the alarm at around 9.30pm and a search involving the coastguard helicopter was launched, but bad weather is hampering the operation.

The two snowboarders are understood to have been in regular contact with the emergency services during the night.
