Govt announces measures to help unemployed

The Government has announced a number of measures to help people losing their jobs as a result of the recession.

The state agency FÁS is to provide an additional 50,000 places on training courses for the unemployed, while the number of referrals from the Department of Social and Family Affairs is also set to almost double.
