Gardaí have sealed off a house in Bandon following the arrest of a man this morning on suspicion of murdering missing widow Anne Corcoran.

Gardai have sealed off a house in Bandon following the arrest of a man this morning on suspicion of murdering missing widow Anne Corcoran.

The 49-year-old man is being questioned at Bandon Garda Station after being arrested near the town shortly after 8am.

Garda forensic experts are now examining a house in an estate near Bandon Bridge school, where Ms Corcoran's car was spotted after she went missing more than two weeks ago.

Dozens of volunteers are continuing to search for the 60-year-old widow around Bandon, Kilbrittain and Garretstown, where he was last seen on January 18.
