A fresh controversy has erupted over attempts by Libertas to set itself up as a Europe-wide political force.

One of the people leader Declan Ganley has claimed is a founding member of his European party has said he never signed any foundation document.

Estonian politician Igor Grazin said claims by Libertas that he part of the organisation are "utterly untrue".

The news has led to calls for a review of an EU decision to grant Libertas official recognition and provide it with more than €200,000 worth of funding.
