Workers continue Waterford Crystal sit-in

Workers at Waterford Crystal are continuing their sit-in protest at the company's Kilbarry facility this morning.

Workers at Waterford Crystal are continuing their sit-in protest at the company's Kilbarry facility this morning.

The action began last Friday when the administrator overseeing the troubled firm announced a halt to manufacturing, with the loss of 480 jobs.

The administrator is in talks with two US investment firms about possible takeover deals.

The workers have expressed support for one of the bids, by Clarion Capital, which would apparently see around 300 jobs retained in Waterford.

A rally in support of the workers is due to take place in Waterford tomorrow.
